Submission Guidelines

All submitted work must be fully created by a human, without the use of Artificial Intelligence in any form. Works generated by or created with the help of Artificial Intelligence will not be accepted or published in our magazine.

All submitted work must fall under the category of a mental health topic. Common examples of mental health issues include, but are not limited to, depression, anxiety, PTSD, schizophrenia, eating disorders, body image disorders or body dysmorphia, OCD, personality disorders, substance use disorders, dissociative disorders, autism spectrum disorder (ASD), and ADHD.

Fictional work is allowed, although we encourage research beforehand to keep your work as realistic and respectful as possible. Please do not include any violence or erotica, as our magazine is intended to reach a variety of ages. 

We will choose many submissions to be featured in our magazine, however the top submissions will earn prizes such as an $100 Visa Gift Card.

Writing Guidelines:

All writing should be in Times New Roman, 12pt, and single-spaced with a clear, bolded title and the author's name (not required) directly below the title. 

Short Stories: Fictional narrative written in prose. 750-3,000 words in length per piece.

Poetry: Writing in verse. May include, but not limited to, prose poetry, free verse, formal poetry, and spoken word. 10-100 lines in length per piece.

Narrative: A non-fiction story about either the author or someone else detailing a meaningful event. 500-3,000 words in length per piece.

Art Guidelines:

Images of low-quality (blurry, bad lighting, low resolution, etc.) will be not included in the magazine or will be asked to resubmit.

Digital Art: Drawings, paintings, and collages created using exclusively digital tools. Upload 1 image per piece.

2D Art: Artwork in the form of a drawing, painting, or print done by hand. Upload 1 image per piece.

Photography: Images captured by either analog or digital camera. Can be, but not required to be: collaged, cloned, layered, merged, distorted, or heavily manipulated either physically or digitally. Also includes images captured via experimental methods (including, but not limited to, cyanotype photographic images, pinhole camera, etc.) Upload 1 image per piece.

3D Art: Three-dimensional art objects created by carving, casting, pottery, glass, etc. Upload up to 4 clear images per piece from a variety of different angles.

Any submissions or entries disregarding these guidelines will not be featured in our 2027 issue. 

Important Dates

Submissions are open to all for the 2027 issue starting on October 10, 2026 all the way until February 25, 2027.

Included pieces and their authors/artists will be notified in late March.

Magazine will be published virtually on our website on May 1 to honor the start of Mental Health Awareness Month.
Physical copies of the magazine will be available for order on our website as well and free copies will be given to the authors/artists who participated.
